Q: What programs have folks here been happy with and would recommend? Qsync worked better than SuperSync, but i'm also having issues with this program as the Selective folders option isn't actually working as it insists on sync'ing all of the Multimedia subfolders (Movie, photos, etc.) in addition to the Music subfolder (I'm speaking with QNAP support in a few days to fix this problem).The set of instructions to configure SuperSync Server are common for all the NAS systems. Q: Is there way to establish which Library should be the "master" library containing the files that all remote libraries should sync to? HOw do you exclude files on the remote from ever sync'ing? 4. And the documentation is also insufficient and not detailed for real-life situations. The interface is just plain awful and painful to work with. Guess what? They're still visible! Supersync will "put" a file with accents on the Mac to the NAS, but remove the accent, creating a duplicate of the file already there (remember I had manually transferred the file before introducing Supersync). Files and Folders with accents or other non-English marks (É, ö) on the Mac and NAS are not recognized as being the same. It began it's reading of the NAS (remote) files to create the remote iTunes library to which to sync. When I set up SuperSync on Mac A, it read all local files, and then connected to the NAS remote. Before I bought SuperSync, I manually transferred the audio files of interest from Mac A to the NAS. I only care about sync audio files (but not podcasts) and don't want to sync movies, iPhone apps or other iTunes library items. Mac computer B will on occasion add a new item that should be shared to Mac A and the NAS. Mac computer "A" has 99% of the "master files" which are the "correct" files to which the NAS and Mac computer B should sync to.
First, I'll describe what i'm trying to accomplish. I'm hoping to see if people here can offer solutions to my problems or just give up on this program. This has further convinced me this is a very dubious company and discourage you from getting this program. I've submitted two tickets to Supersync support and have not heard from this company at all-not even an email acknowledging receipt of my emails. It has not come close to accomplishing as advertised. The goal was to synchronize the household iTunes library between two Macs and the QNAP TS-451+. I paid for the SuperSync program ($23) which I fully regret, but am hoping to making lemonade out of lemons now.
